Getting started is easy!
Alumni Career Support Network
Our alumni community is our greatest asset. The depth and reach of this alumni family distinguishes us from other medical societies and healthcare associations. Our alumni understand the unique paths of careers in medicine, healthcare and research, and are especially well positioned to offer relevant, empathetic guidance drawn from lived experience.
Are you looking for career advice, or on the brink of a career transition? Our new Alumni Career Support Network provides peer support to help alumni at any career stage navigate transitions, make decisions and build connections.
Our Alumni Career Support Network provides support for the real moments that shape careers in medicine, healthcare and research, such as:
- Career transitions and decisions
- Professional challenges and pivots
- Opportunities for networking
- Peer mentoring and support
Thanks for your interest in being a mentor! This resource is possible because of alumni like you, who are willing to volunteer their time to support each other during their careers. Fill out this form to learn more and get started as a mentor.
The Alumni Career Support Network is designed to support alumni. However, if you are a student looking to connect with a current resident in your specialty or specialties of interest, Career Advising maintains a directory of Residents in Medicine (RiM). Learn more in the Residents in Medicine (RiM) Directory section of this page.
How do I connect with an
alumni career support volunteer?
Step 1
Search our list of alumni volunteers. You can use search filters (such as location, degree, specialty or career experiences) to find the right match for you.
Step 2
Submit a request. Click on your chosen alumni volunteer’s profile page to learn more about them and fill out a short form with your contact information and what you’re seeking guidance and connection on.
Step 3
Connect! We’ll confirm that your alumni volunteer is available, then share their contact information with you. From there, it’s up to you to reach out, introduce yourself and figure out when and how you’d like to meet.
