Join us on the beautiful grounds of The Lodge at St. Edward Park as we celebrate the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Awards recipients.
The night will begin with a welcome reception of hors d’oeuvres and local beer and wine, followed by the awards ceremony, hosted by dean and CEO, Dr. Tim Dellit. With inspiring videos and speeches, you’ll learn about the significant contributions our award recipients have made to the UW School of Medicine and to improving health around the world.

Cocktail attire is recommended for this special event.
Complimentary valet and self-parking.

Registration for the Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony is accessible through the MD Alumni Reunion Weekend event registration. The Awards Ceremony is open to all.

John Boyce, MD ’70 | Distinguished Alumnus Award:
  • UW Medicine Scholarship Fund: Supports medical students at the University of Washington School of Medicine, aiming to reduce financial barriers for trainees. Donors to this fund help train future healthcare providers, with a focus on fostering careers in family medicine and care for underserved communities.

D. Ryan Ormond, MD ’06 | Alumni Humanitarian Award: 
  • The Idaho WWAMI Scholarship Fund provides necessary financial support to Idaho WWAMI students attending the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Daniel Low, MD ’17 | 
Alumni Early Achievement Award:
  • UDOC is a summer residential program for rising high school seniors across Washington who have an interest in the health professions. Held on the University of Washington campus, UDOC is open to students throughout the state, especially those with limited educational and financial resources.
  • Underserved Pathway: The Underserved Pathway at UW Medicine is a training and career-development pathway focused on preparing learners to work effectively with underserved, marginalized, and historically excluded populations. It is most prominently associated with medical education and clinical training, though its principles extend across UW Medicine.

J. Richard Goss, MD, MPH, Fel. ’96 | 
Alumni Service Award:
  • Mission of Caring Fund: Supports Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, allowing the public hospital to provide high-quality, specialized care to all patients regardless of their income or insurance status. Donations to this fund directly enhance patient services, support Level I trauma and burn care, and provide essential resources for uninsured or underserved community members
  • Make a gift in honor of Dr. Goss
